Ayla

Modular rug for exterior and interior environments.

The decorating motif consists of hexagonal forms with different dimensions and shapes, positioned according to a pre-determined scheme, crafted by hand with solid or two-colour flat braids in Rope yarn. The braids are sewn with Zigzag stitch, using a thread in a matching or contrasting colour, onto strips of Kimia fabric in varying widths. The fabric strips, the number of which varies according to the dimensions of the rug, are then joined lengthwise with a flat braid in Rope yarn.
One colour can be chosen for the backing, while a series of colours should be chosen as to allow the generation of the desired chromatic effect of the décor.

The position and number of the designs are studied each time for each single rug, to obtain from the selected colours the best possible chromatic yield and aesthetics. The short sides of the rug feature small tassels crafted with cords.

Materials and production techniques advise against the use of Ayla in high traffic areas.
