LIFE AT | Move

10 years up and down. Bon anniversaire!
By Cristiana Colli

Movement, shifting while sitting still, a sense of space, and, seen from there, a landscape which changes, taken apart and recomposed, between details and the whole. Move is an invitation, a frame of mind which challenges gravity and the perception of form; it’s a vantagepoint onto the world. Round and welcoming but empty, it’s the embrace of a solid thread that extends, curves, is interwoven, draws near and goes far, turns and returns. Designed to rock, rest, and read, it’s made for an ice-cold vodka, a hot tea, a podcast to listen to facing a bow window. Move has a special story. It comes in just four colours, but it has also been the focus of experimentation with different configurations and finishes for special events, displays, and openings around the world; the solid ash frame, composed of thirty-one pieces which have been hand-lathed and put together, is the result of expert manufacturing capabilities; the seat, in the name of aesthetic versatility and ergonomics, is in fabric or in leather. Envisioned and designed by Rossella Pugliatti, it’s a perfect object, a manifesto, testimony to Giorgetti style and quality around the globe. Move is an icon of Italian design.

EVENTS | New dresses that breathe with the landscape, shaping a new outdoor experience

As the warm season approaches, the window display of Giorgetti’s Milanese house is renewed with a setting that celebrates the art of outdoor living and introduces the new mood boards for outdoor fabrics. The concept is inspired by Italian Gardens, places of tranquillity and harmony designed for summer leisure and dialogue with nature.
Among the protagonists of the new proposal is white, interpreted in various shades and used for the Moorea outdoor sofa and cushions, as well as for the Aldìa armchairs. A three-dimensional dialogue unfolds with the stones, evoking the rizzata – the traditional stone paving of Italian church forecourts – and the nymphaea of the Visconti Villas, conceived to provide coolness during the hottest months.
In contrast with the lighter tones, brick emerges, inspired by Cocciopesto, a material rooted in the Italian building tradition.
This hue dominates the scene, characterising the sofa, sunbed and cushions of the Moorea outdoor collection, together with the Nisida rug and maxi cushions.
Enhancing the scene are a stone frog, recalling the aesthetics of historic Italian fountains, and a neoclassical vase. These details coexist with magnolia leaves, a tribute to Renaissance gardens and to the sound of water as an element of well-being and contemplation

The renewed window displays of Spiga – The Place thus become a visual narrative: a peaceful summer retreat where one can unwind and cool off, and an ideal setting for presenting Giorgetti’s new outdoor fabrics, designed to bring timeless elegance to outdoor spaces.

GIORGETTI UNVEALS ITS NEW PENTHOUSE IN MANHATTAN

In celebration of its 125th anniversary, Giorgetti is expanding its international presence with several new showrooms that offer a complete immersion into the world of Giorgetti and an opportunity to experience the Group’s unique approach to design.

Weeks after inaugurating an innovative showroom concept in Milan with “Giorgetti Spiga – The Place”, Giorgetti turns its attention to the heart of the Big Apple. During NYCxDesign–the most important US event dedicated to design running from May 18th to 25th–Giorgetti unveils a spectacular new 11,000 square feet Penthouse Atelier in the heart of Manhattan.

A vibrant, pulsating metropolis where everything happens, New York represents a major milestone for Giorgetti. This new monobrand will join those already existing in Boston, Houston and Los Angeles, and, in 2023, will be joined by two more opening in Miami and Washington DC. This significant expansion brings to fruition an important development strategy for the North American market, which has proven itself to be extremely receptive to the high quality of Made in Italy design.

“In recent years we’ve decided to invest in spaces that allow us to communicate to the market the enormous capabilities of ‘using Giorgetti’: the creation of products that combine beauty and functionality – the result of unyielding research on finishes, shapes and colours – as an essential tool to deliver the design and creation of 360° interior proposals. New York is the epicenter of art and creation: culinary and shopping capital, cradle of fashion and trends, New York has something irresistible for everyone. Opening in one of the most important cities in the USA, and the world, is not only a fundamental step on our path of international growth, but it is the natural answer to our desire to intercept and influence new trends and ideas.” Giovanni del Vecchio, CEO Gruppo Giorgetti

“The Group’s American mission is to communicate the company’s know-how in the management of projects at any scale, hospitality or residential, while conveying the ‘Giorgetti style’ which represents centuries of tradition and craftsmanship, a culture of manufacturing and design identity. Through these strengths, we intend to consolidate our market positioning.” Moreno Vitaloni, CEO Giorgetti USA
